Livret séminaire séance 19 – Gül Eroglu

This presentation will explore the relationship between body, space, and language in the construction of female subjectivity by examining two books, Always Coming Home by Ursula K. Le Guin and My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki. My analysis will employ a material ecofeminist framework, which will help challenge the gendered implications of place and space, with a focus on the body. Le Guin and Ozeki integrate these gendered implications into settings and character movements, but allow the characters to break free from them, ultimately challenging patterns of victimhood, and offer an alternative to patriarchal narratives.
